Oregon Fruit Products — Chain Account Manager
Oregon Fruit Products is seeking a Chain Account Manager. We are a fast growing, family-owned business that offers a complete line of canned, frozen and aseptically packaged fruit for consumers, foodservice operators, brewers and ingredient customers.
The company was founded in 1935 by the Gehlar family. The family owned and operated Oregon Fruit Products until 2011 when the family sold the company to the Maletis family. Summary
The Foodservice Chain Account Manager is responsible for managing National Foodservice Key Accounts, maintaining a long-term relationship with accounts, influencing long-term strategic direction, and maximizing sales opportunities. Responsible for providing a high level of consultative services, problem solving and proper understanding and application of Oregon Fruit Products solutions. Executes sales plans in accordance with company sales strategies to achieve both short and long-term success and growth.
Essential Duties
Responsible for the development of business in new national, regional, and emerging chain accounts for Foodservice branded products and/or custom products.
Create strategy, set, and meet objectives for assigned key accounts.
Deepen relationships with prospects and existing customers through solution-based sales.
Meet or exceed sales targets in both gross dollars and margins.
Travel to and participate in tradeshows, capabilities presentations, customer events, customer meetings, training, team meetings and other industry events as assigned.
Coordinate with R&D, finance and operations on product pricing and submits for review and approval by Director of Sales.
Interact and communicate with chain accounts on a regular basis to acquire a thorough understanding of key operator needs and requirements.
Deliver reporting on account status, forecasts, and sales activities to sales management.
Present a high level of customer service to customers regarding product, orders, production issues, delivery issues or other concerns.
Expand and further penetrate relationships with new customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Create new sales opportunities for Oregon Fruit Products and the Fruit in Hand™ brand to meet established sales goals.
Proactive engagement with customers and prospects through culinary demonstrations with focus on product application and Capabilities Presentations.
Serve as the liaison of communication between key customers and internal teams- QA, R&D and Operations, to develop and continuously refine the account management offering, as well as provide feedback internally so our company and product strategy can evolve based on our clients’ needs.
Develop and achieve approved budget and financial targets.
Create product applications and recipes to enhance the culinary aspect of the Foodservice Division.
Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Conduct ongoing communication to Director of Sales of all new programs and customer activities.
Develop a thorough understanding of our distribution network, DOT Foods and how National Accounts utilize systems distribution.
Meet sales revenue goals and margin/profitability goals and maintain cost containment for expense budgets.
Work within a flexible schedule including some weekend and evenings.
Work independently with Excellent organizational skills.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Excellent communication skills including presentation, influence, and negotiation skills including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
This position requires 50% travel. May be required to work occasional weekends and evenings.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or related field; minimum 10 years’ experience selling food/beverage products to National and Regional Foodservice Chain Accounts. Culinary experience or certification is a requirement.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; to effectively present information to top management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic mathematical operations to successfully complete job functions.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including spreadsheet, report writing, project management, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail. Proficient with Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Also, able to work in PowerPoint.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Food Handlers license is required.
